The joberg2c is South Africa’s greatest journey – starting in the south of Johannesburg and finishing nine days later at Scottburgh on the KwaZulu-Natal coast.

Riding the off-roads less travelled and trails never travelled. It is racing, riding and touring across this magnificent country. It is sharing a passion for mountain biking with those who love riding. The 2020 joberg2c takes place from 24th April to 2nd May.

As the wind roared off Sterkfontein Dam and the rain from Siberia lashed down on the dining marquee, the joberg2c organisers announced that the normally feisty, trail-heavy day four would be a neutral day on tar.The response from the riders was a monstrous roar of approval, with the 800+ still mud-splattered field even after six showers further signaling their happiness with an appreciative round of applause. One of the organiser’s, Gary Green, called it what it is, when he said, “this is no longer a race, it’s an adventure, and we’re all in it together.”The “tar” day was a brilliant move, with riders quickly rediscovering their gees at the unofficial water point 20km, a stop at the Fat Chef restaurant for coffee and scones. From there it was a speedy decent towards Bergville and a short district road section towards Spioenkop Dam and the Emseni finish line. Suitably rejuvenated, riders will tackle a 118km from Winterton to Nottingham Road on day five.
